Greetings on the last morning of 2022!
It is hard not to give in to the annual temptation to review the past 12 months, isn’t it? For me, it was an….. interesting….. year. I experienced snowfall for the first time in my life. Then had too much of it on a summit trek at 14000 feet. Managed to complete a trail run in the Himalayas (after two failed attempts). Had surgery. Published a handful of essays on media platforms, which offered some validation. Was roundly rejected by a staggering number of creative writing competitions and literary magazines. (You would expect it to hurt less with every incremental rejection. I can assure you, that is not the case.) And made the princely sum of zilch-zero-nada from my writing projects, thus proving that my decision to switch careers was financially ruinous.
I quite enjoyed 2022, all in all. I hope all of you can say the same!
Now coming to the matter at hand. Discerning readers may have already gotten an inkling of what’s (not) in store - the title of this post is a bit of a giveaway, after all. I do not have anything much for you today and am only popping in to wish you all a very Happy New Year and convey my good wishes, warm regards and so on.
I will, however, be back in your inboxes next weekend when normal programming resumes.
So long and see you all in 2023!
Happy New Year, Rohan! Sounds like it's been a great year for you in terms of writing. Wishing you all the best for the year ahead!
Happy New Year Rohan. May God Bless you with the wisdom to know that you write super fantastically. I am sure the run to the bank is just round the corner. Remain Blessed.
