😂😂😂 I came here *just* to read this! All of us in the CWC whatsapp group wait for this man to publish a write up, so to see you do the wifely thing and bring him back down to Earth seems fitting and equally (differently) hilarious 😂 may you both continue to be successful in your individual endeavours 😂

LoLed on the definition of aloo potol er dalna.. How do you come with these?

"Nothing pleases me more than reviewing repayment clauses of loan agreements, I wanted to say." I am glad you escaped this one.

And why are all these literary magazines rejecting you 😡😡😡. We will show them when you get invited to Sweden by the Nobel committee.

I hope you enjoyed the France vs. Sweden match.

In case I haven't made it clear before, let me reiterate, I thoroughly enjoy reading your posts Rohan.

Rohan Banerjee's avatar

Thank you for such a wonderful note, Rakhi! And for being such an attentive readers and for all the encouragement. It means a lot. :)

I did enjoy the match. A lot, hahaha. Justice!

Very immersive brother. Also I hope you get to visit places just like Sweden if not better.

Thanks so much! :)

Hilarious, and our sympathies! Sweden’s loss is Norway’s gain I guess. Maybe once there you will be able to tell from the inside what exactly is the right Scandinavian answer to “why does one want to visit Sweden for tourism” 🤔

Rohan Banerjee's avatar

Thanks so much, Ravneet!

I'll ask the Norwegians, I am sure they will have an interesting answer to this question.

What a ride :D And I agree - I used to think job rejections were the worst although even there you can tell yourself that it was a specific competence or the subjectivity of the person hiring. But getting rejected by a whole country truly triggers a different scale of introspection :') Tis Sweden's loss.

Rohan Banerjee's avatar

Thanks a lot!! :D

Yeah, and to be rejected twice! Two different sets of officials saw the application and said, 'We don't want you here.' That really hurts.

But Norway came through for us, so all good.

I loved where all this piece took me. Caught me by surprise time and again. Nice!

Rohan Banerjee's avatar

Thanks, Satyajit! Very glad to know the transitions worked.

May you have many more mishaps in life (I'm remembering the stolen mobile phone from a couple weeks ago) so that we can continue to read your hilarious writing! (Monsieur!)

Rohan Banerjee's avatar

Haha, what a price to pay for content. Thanks a lot, Amrita!

I shall inform the Nobel committee, so that they don't get a rude shock just before they announce your peace prize!

Rohan Banerjee's avatar

Haha, thank you!

Pritam Sukumar's avatar

I’m almost glad these rejections happened because it meant the world got to hear these stories from you! Great read, Rohan!

Rohan Banerjee's avatar

Thanks a lot, Pritam!

Not much to see in Sweden - worry not.

Rohan Banerjee's avatar

Yes, I'd decided this already. Thanks for reading!

True. I learnt about rejection the same way in ad agencies, where 99% of your 'ideas' and words are rejected. Writing is a sperm race searching for an egg.

Rohan Banerjee's avatar

Hah, excellent analogy! Thank you for reading. :)
